Tricks Party 2025

Zeebrugge, Belgium.

10 and 11 May

Edition 18 (!) of a tricks party on the beach of Zeebrugge took place under very sunny conditions but not too hot to handle.

The wind was from a lesser direction, coming over land and crossing the beach at a 60° angle.

This year we had competitors from 4 different countries, so we could call this a small European championship!

(note: it's common in the kite world to exaggerate the titles and the weight it has on the community)

On Saturday, the wind was between 8 and 34 km/hour, varying by the minute. So every pilot had about the same wind conditions, but they were unpredictable.

Wouter didn't care. He continued where he left off last year: winning the thing with a large margin. Marcel was a good second, and Ronald was less than one point behind, so we had a nice podium.

Aymeric flew his first competition and learned what stress can do to your timing (and some sh*tty wind for the kite he flew). Lars did the imposed tricks very well but decided to step out of the competition for the rest of the weekend.

Sunday was a little nicer with wind between 6 en 26 km/hour, slightly more east than the day before. The lowest part of the wind window had less pressure than higher up, it showed in the tricks!

Wouter performed as usual, although he did struggle with the wind for the last part of his routine. Jens refound his skills and let the kite do what he wanted it to do, he got second place for that!

Ronald came in close and secured his podium place.

The totals were added for the two days and recalculated to get the end result:

Wouter is Belgian champion for the 12th time! And modest European champion as well!

Ronald got his second Dutch chanpion title, Jens did the same for Germany (I lost count on this)

Aymeric can write the English title on his CV!

See you all next year!
