540
Definition:
The 540 is a single 540° belly-down rotation initiated from a flare. IN is a vertical flight down, OUT is straight up.
Key Elements:
Straight line vertical entry. Flare is flat, as well as the rotation for the full 540°. Out is straight upwards.
Judges view:
The vertical entry has no speed loss, the flare is done close to the ground. The rotation is a full 540°. Out is a straight line up.
Most common errors:
The trick is done from a sideway flare with the back of the kite showing completely. Rotation isn't full. OUT is sideways and corrected during flight.
Randy G. does some nice 540s in his tutorial.
