Cascade

Definition:

The CASCADE is a series of reversing HALF AXELS. With each HALF AXEL, the kite alternates between 3:00 and 9:00 O'clock positions. The trick is entered from a horizontal line of flight close to the top of the wind window, must descend through the window and exits in a straight horizontal line.

Key elements:

Minimum three Half Axels (wingtips vertical!). Constant speed. Vertical (straight-line) descent. Horizontal entry and exit. 5 Half Axels for an EXCELLENT score.

Judges view:

Each half axel must be complete. The kite must descend with each half axel. Straight line down. . Descend rate should be one wingspan with each half axel. OUT is a horizontal flight (right or left).

Most common errors:

Starting the trick too low, no full half axels, no descend at all (= NO Cascade!!)

Now you know what to look for, it's easy to recognise a good Cascade.
